Position: Deconstruction Crew: Volunteers of all skill levels are able to be involved with deconstruction projects. If you can loosen a screw or pull a nail then you can assist us.

Description: Deconstruction projects are a fun time and a great opportunity for volunteer groups with little construction skills seeking a one day event.
Qualifications:
- Volunteers must be age 16 and older.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs or more helpful, but not necessary.
- Skilled labor is a major plus, to assist in removing furnace/air condition units, electrical and plumbing.
Time Commitment: Volunteer opportunities are available during weekdays, day and evening hours as well as on weekends. Greatest Need: Volunteers available during the week.
Responsibilities: A commitment to the mission of Habitat for Humanity.
Training: On the job training will be provided.

Position Title: Crew Lead

Description: This position focuses on hands on training, small crew oversight for quality, and safe practices for construction.
Goals of Position:
To support the construction of homes for Habitat for Humanity by Assisting staff and volunteer supervisors by instructing small crews of volunteers and supporting Habitat Construction, and/or House Lead's daily leadership needs.
To facilitate an overall productive and fulfilling experience for Habitat Construction Volunteers.
Qualifications:
Must have construction experience with rough carpentry, finish carpentry, or various phases of residential house construction.
Must have a valid Drivers license with a good record.
Must be flexible and willing to work in constantly changing conditions and willing to try new things.
Must be safety conscious and good with people.
Time Commitment:
Minimum- 1 Saturday per month - Saturday - 8:00 to 4:30
Maximum- 3 Days per week - Weekdays - 8:30 to 4:30
Saturday - 8:00 to 4:30
Responsibilities:
To gather the appropriate supplies in the morning from the office when requested by the House Lead or Habitat supervisor
To meet with House Lead/ Habitat staff before every work day.
To ensure quality construction by using standard best practices, or conferring with supervisors.
To be on time and committed to involving everyone who wishes to participate.

attending House Lead/Crew Lead meeting once a month

Position Title: House Lead

Description: This position is akin to a superintendent of a construction sight. The focus is leadership, not direct involvement.
Goals of Position: To oversee the construction of a job sight and keep volunteers active in a productive manner through delegation, to keep volunteers safe according to the task needs, and to adhere to the standards and mission of Habitat for Humanity.
Qualifications:
Must have experience in various aspects and phases of residential home construction.
Must be willing to work closely in partnership with staff and volunteers.
Must have good people skills and patience in being a teacher and facilitator.
Must be willing to make an arranged commitment to the project.
Full Commitment- Works with an Adopt- A-House group from the planning stages to the dedication of the house. Average length of commitment is 6 to 10 months, most every Saturday during the construction process.
Partial Commitment- Works with an Adopt-A-House group for a particular stage(s) of construction. Ex: rough framing, siding, roofing, etc.
Substitute- Works on as needed bases to act as a sub for other House Leaders in the case of absence of their regular House Lead.
General Responsibilities:
To oversee the daily construction to ensure compliance to local building codes, and adhere to GCHFH building standards and plans.
To observe safe building practices by volunteers on job sites according to GCHFH Safety Standards.
To be responsible for updating the GCHFH Construction Director on current build issues and requesting any needed items of volunteers from the appropriate staff.
To be responsible for delegation of daily construction and construction support tasks and any Habitat equipment lent for that days work.
Training: Mentoring and Training sessions in the House lead and construction aspects of Greater Columbus Habitat for Humanity.
