Volunteer Orientation
Habitat for Humanity-Greater Columbus invites anyone interested in volunteering to join us for Volunteer Orientation. You will learn about Habitat for Humanity and tour our facility, including Habitat's ReStore, our retail store. By the end of the orientation, you will have a better concept of how and why Habitat for Humanity does what it does and how you can help in a variety of ways with our mission to eradicate substandard housing in the Greater Columbus area.

Volunteer Orientation takes place at our office located at 3140 Westerville Rd., south of Morse Rd.  We offer three sessions for your convenience (9:00 a.m., 9:45 a.m., or 10:30 a.m.). Orientation lasts approximately 90 minutes.  Pre-registration is required.

2008 Volunteer Orientation Dates:

Saturdays: February 2, April 5, June 7, August 2, October 4, and December 6.

Volunteer Orientation Schedule:

Registration starts 15 minutes before your session. Enjoy refreshments while watching a brief video about Habitat for Humanity. A Board member gives an introduction and you will also be introduced to a Habitat family. Next, you will take a brief tour of our ReStore store followed by a brief presentation about Habitat's mission narrated by another Board member. A panel of staff and volunteers will describe current volunteer needs and you'll have the opportunity to ask questions and sign up for areas you would like to volunteer. In conclusion, you can caravan to one of our construction sites and tour the site with a construction representative. Please note: On site you must have proper shoes no slip-on or open-toe shoes are permitted.
