Every Habitat for Humanity house is built with donor dollars, volunteer labor and a partner family. Churches play a critical role in all three areas of Habitat's ministry.
One way that congregations can support the Habitat ministry is financially. Some congregations do this by donating through their budgets or by finding creative ways to raise funds. Previously, congregations have used special fund drives, special Sunday offerings, church foundation funds, or Vacation Bible School designated funds.
Often congregations can link us to in-kind donations: donations such as building supplies and materials, food for volunteer group lunches, tools, etc.
Congregations can support us by getting the word out about the Build It Again Center. Donating items, volunteering, or buying items from the HFHGC Build It Again Center are all ways to support the mission of Habitat for Humanity-Greater Columbus.

"Homeownership is vital. There is self-reliance; there is security; there is pride that comes in ownership; there is prosperity for the family; there is stability of neighborhoods, economic growth. There are benefits for children..."
Donald Haurin, Professor of Economics, Finance, and Public Policy
Ohio State University, from his lecture "The Private & Social Benefits of Homeownership"
