Habitat for Humanity-Greater Columbus - Religious Resources
Congregations can spread the word about the numerous opportunities available for individuals, small groups and the entire congregation to participate in the Habitat for Humanity-Greater Columbus program.
  • Publicize Volunteer Opportunities within your congregation. Individuals are needed to work on one of our standing committees such as Family Selection, Family Advocate, Religious Resources, and periodic Special Events Committees such as Annual Meeting and More Than Houses.
  • Publicize the Build It Again Center. The Build It Again Center is a retail store open to the entire community. Volunteers are needed to be part of the Build It Again Center Committee, to drive truck and pick up donated items, and work in the store.
  • Offer Devotions - Individuals or small groups within a congregation can agree to provide devotions on a Saturday at the Building on Faith or Building on the Dream work sites . This can be done on a one time basis or scheduled as often as you would like.
  • Provide Lunches - Chuck Wagon
  • Be a part of the International Day of Prayer and Action for Human Habitation in September: Sign up to be part of this world wide day of Prayer and Action for Human Habitation. Schedule a speaker, pray for hearts to be touched for the need for decent housing, focus your worship service on the need for decent housing, ask for a litany for shelter to be used during your church service. September not a good time? -- set a day during the year that fits your schedule.
