AmeriCorps Positions with Habitat

Team up with Habitat & AmeriCorps in 2009-2010

Habitat for Humanity-Greater Columbus is looking for dedicated, enthusiastic individuals willing to join us in the following capacities:

AmeriCorps*VISTA positions available: (12 month term beginning Aug. 2009)

1. •ReStore Community Resource Coordinator: increase awareness and community resources (volunteers, donors, customers) for Habitat’s ReStore & their recycling efforts
   

2. •Faith & Youth Relations Coordinator: expand outreach and participation in faith and school community
   

AmeriCorps*National Direct positions available: (10 month term beginning Aug. 2009)

1. •Construction Warehouse Coordinator: increase efficiency in coordinating the warehousing and distribution of construction materials & tools for Habitat projects
   

2. •Construction Crew Leader: assist Project Lead in providing leadership in the construction technique, safety & knowledge of Habitat program
   

Habitat*AmeriCorps members commit one year of service to work with Habitat and in return receive a modest living allowance, basic health insurance, and an education award at the end of their service year.  The Columbus affiliate also provides some rental assistance.  Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or lawful permanent resident alien of the U.S., possess a high school diploma or GED, and commit to year of full-time service
